HONG KONG – Crystal Denim, a division of Crystal International, has announced that it has produced the first ever net-zero jeans, which have been certified by the HKQAA (Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency).
To achieve this, the firm says it adopted a cradle-to-gate carbon accounting method and placed onus on minimising the impact of design, materials and manufacturing processes.
Miles Lam, Crystal Denim’s assistant general manager for sales and business development, commented: “The achievement of a net-zero certificate is our first step to identifying the significance of climate impact at each stage of the product lifecycle.”
