MUNICH – Performance fabric producer Pertex has linked up with LA-based garment recycler Ambercycle to develop recycled polyester for outdoor and sportswear from textile waste instead of PET bottles.
Pertex is using Ambercycle's Cycora material, which is chemically recycled from end-of-life textile waste, to manufacture technical performance apparel for leading outdoor and sportswear brands.
Cycora is designed to regenerate textile waste that would otherwise go to landfill into virgin quality recycled polyester, boosting circularity and reducing the extraction of fossil fuels.
