SAN FRANCISCO - Denim giant Levi's has joined a Walmart programme to commit to wind power to meet the bulk of its electricity needs for its owned and operated facilities in the US and Canada.
Levi's is one of five Walmart suppliers which have committed to purchase renewable energy produced by the Sunflower Wind Farm in Kansas over the next 12 years, which equates to approximately 250,000 MWh of wind power annually.
“By working together with other companies on this project, our collective purchasing power is creating a pathway for clean energy,” said Pavan Pamidimarri, senior vice president of finance for operations and sourcing at Levi's.
