LENZING / SPARTANBURG - Austrian fibre manufacturer Lenzing has linked up with protective workwear brand Westex in a deal aimed at enhancing sustainability efforts within the specialist field.
Westex, which is owned by US manufacturer Milliken & Company, is to integrate Lenzing's Tencel-branded lyocell into Westex's DH and DH Air fabric collections of garments which offer arc-flash and flash-fire protection.
“Westex — along with our parent organisation, Milliken & Company — and Lenzing see an incredible opportunity to reframe the sustainability conversation within the protective garments industry,” said Michael Langley, vice president of sales and marketing for Westex.
