SPARTANBURG – US apparel manufacturer Milliken & Company has confirmed its participation in two commercial textile-to-textile recycling trials as part of the Accelerating Circularity initiative’s framework.
The company will produce two garments – one polyester-based and the other a polycotton blend – which at their end of life will be processed using chemical and mechanical recycling solutions to test their potential at scale.
“We have the operational capabilities and workforce innovation that make participating in these trials a great way for us to help reduce the environmental impact of the textile industry,” said Jeff Strahan, director of sustainability, compliance, and research at Milliken & Company.
