CHICAGO – A new report on the efforts of 150 fashion brands and retailers to improve the circularity credentials of their garments gave them an average score of less than three out of 10.
Patagonia, Levi’s and the North Face topped the list, all scoring above eight (out of 10), but the average score in the 2022 Circular Fashion Index (CFX), published by Kearney's, was just 2.97.
“Fashion brands must acknowledge, understand, and own their environmental impact from one end of the value chain to the other, including manufacturing, distribution, and retail partners. Only then will they be in position to prioritise initiatives with the biggest impact,” Kearney’s said in a statement.
