ASIA – The Prince of Wales’ Sustainable Markets Initiative (SMI) has launched a Manifesto for Regenerative Fashion that will be headed up by its Fashion Task Force.
The Task Force – which is headed up by Yoox Net-A-Porter’s founder Federico Marchetti, and has signatories including Giorgio Armani, Brunello Cucinelli and Chloé – will first work on a €1 million (US$1m) investment programme in the Himalayas to restore wildlife and sustainable farming to this degraded landscape.
Marchetti commented: “The Regenerative Fashion Manifesto is another concrete step towards creating a much more sustainable fashion industry. It is not simply empty words. This project will serve as a blueprint for what can be done to shift the fashion industry towards a more equitable, nature positive future.”
