NEW YORK – US brand Foot Locker has announced its ambition to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 or sooner.
The firm says it’s “answering the call to limit global temperature rise to 1.5oC”, and will look to submit environmental targets to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) in due course.
“Unabated climate change presents risks for our business, industry, and society, but through climate stewardship, we may unlock opportunities to innovate and strengthen our relationships with our customers and the communities we serve,” commented Foot Locker’s chairman and CEO, Richard A. Johnson.
