COLOMBO - MAS Holdings, which bills itself as South Asia’s largest apparel and textile manufacturer, has announced ambitious climate change targets as part of its new company-wide sustainability strategy.
The company's 'MAS Plan For Change' includes commitments to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by more than 25 per cent by 2025, compared to a 2019 baseline.
MAS, which has had its targets approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), has also committed to ensuring that 85 per cent of its suppliers, by spend, will have science-based targets on emissions by 2025.
