OAKLAND – A new report published by resale specialist ThredUp suggests consumers are more interested in purchasing secondhand fashion than new clothing this holiday season, as higher prices and supply chain squeezes influence the market.
This is based on the results of a consumer survey which asked 2,000 US nationals about their shopping preferences as the festive season rolls in.
The findings show that 52 per cent of the sample are concerned about the added expense of new clothing this year, while around the same number of people have expressed an interest in exploring pre-owned apparel.
