AMSTERDAM - The Policy Hub initiative, which aims to accelerate circularity in the apparel and footwear industry, has launched its position paper on the European Union's (EU) Strategy for Textiles.
The Policy Hub - a joint project from the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC), the Federation of the European Sporting Goods Industry (FESI), Global Fashion Agenda, Textile Exchange and the ZDHC Foundation - is calling for the strategy to take a global, rather than purely European, approach.
It wants to see robust action to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions; move towards eliminating the discharge of hazardous chemicals and effluents; and ensure due diligence on fair labour practices and social justice.
