LONDON - Britain's Foreign Affairs Committee has published a report in which it calls on the government to ban the import of all cotton products known to be produced in whole or in part in the Xinjiang region of China.
Entitled 'Never Again: The UK's Responsibility to Act on Atrocities in Xinjiang and Beyond', it calls on the government to "take a much stronger response" to the "crimes against humanity and genocide" taking place in the region.
Meanwhile, the Ethical Trading Institute (ETI) has issued a position statement in which it urges businesses to completely sever their ties with Xinjiang because it says independent audits of suppliers in the region can no longer be relied on.
