CALIFORNIA – Technological solutions provider SupplyShift has partnered with the Responsible Sourcing Network (RSN) to offer fashion brands and manufacturers a tool to snuff out forced labour within their networks.
The YESS (Yarn Ethically & Sustainably Sourced) Cotton Sourcing Risk Screen, developed by SupplyShift, maps cotton supply chains to identify the origin and certification status of materials and uses a scoring system to flag up batches that derive from areas at risk of using forced labour.
It’s expected to support companies distancing themselves from the Chinese region of Xinjiang, which is heavily accused of holding more than a million Uyghur Muslims in what’s been deemed the largest mass incarceration of people since World War II.
