DHAKA - The Global Fashion Agenda initiative is to launch a new 12-month project - the Circular Fashion Partnership - in Bangladesh in a bid to reduce waste by developing recycling in the country's huge garment industry.
The multi-stakeholder initiative also involves major fashion brands and retailers - including Danish company Bestseller, as well as textile and garment manufacturers, and the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) industry body.
The aim of the partnership is to capture and direct post-production fashion waste back into the production of new fashion products, as well as seeking solutions for COVID-19 related build-up of deadstock.
