DHAKA – The International Labour Organisation (ILO) is teaming up with the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters’ Association (BGMEA) and Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters’ Association (BKMEA) to establish a virtual platform that can assist workers with guidance on handling COVID-19 as they return to work.
The RMG (ready-made garment) ‘Learning Hub’, as it’s being called, will provide comprehensive safety training as the industry gains new momentum in becoming fully operational once more.
Its strategy will be three-fold: raising awareness of COVID-19 prevention, ensuring workplace safety guidelines are being followed, and promoting strong social dialogue between stakeholders as they navigate business operations amidst the pandemic.
