SHANGHAI – Chinese viscose producer Sateri has become the first of its kind to join the Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action, an initiative led by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)
Signatories to the charter share the common goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the fashion industry by 30 per cent by 2030 and achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, actions which align with the Paris Agreement’s aim of limiting global warming below 2oC.
“Sateri is committed to growing our business as sustainably as we can. Our adoption of the Fashion Charter goals is a bold leap but we believe that pushing the boundaries is necessary,” said Sateri president, Allen Zhang.
