HELSINKI - Finnish fibre company Spinnova has teamed up with workwear manufacturer Touchpoint to create a prototype apron which both parties claim could be the world's most ecological item of workwear.
The 'Tapio' apron, which was unveiled at the Gastro Helsinki trade fair for the catering industry, is made from Spinnova’s cellulose-based fibre, which is produced with no potentially hazardous chemicals, and is biodegradable.
Named after the ancient Finnish god of the forest, the apron is designed to be circular and can be recycled back into new Spinnova fibre, without the need for dismantling.
