LONDON – Fashion firm House of Fraser has once again stopped the sale of products which integrate real fur after a torrent of protests lambasted its reintroduction into the high-street retailer’s stores.
#FurFreeBritain campaigners were up in arms when new CEO Mike Ashley – the owner of Sports Direct which has now taken over – looked past House of Fraser’s long-standing ban to authorise the sale of real fur products just 10 days ago.
Dubbed ‘House of Horrors’ by Humane Society International/UK (HSI UK), the retailer has been quick to backtrack following strong objections from campaign groups and consumers. “We urge House of Fraser to publicly reinstate and uphold its long-standing fur-free policy,” HSI UK has now called for.
