BARCELONA - Global yarn producer Unifi Manufacturing has placed what it calls a “significant” order for Oerlikon’s new eAFK Evo texturing machine, which was unveiled to selected clients at ITMA 2019.
Unifi collaborated with Oerlikon to develop a pilot machine - which has been operating for the last eight months - to manufacture various Unifiber virgin and Repreve recycled polyester and polyamide yarns.
The company also notes that it has obtained exclusive rights in the Americas to the unique technology, which has been designed to operate at considerably higher texturing speeds, deliver high-quality yarn across a broad range of products, and enable the production of new, innovative performance yarns.
