NEW DELHI - The challenge faced by Indian authorities in seeking to clean up its polluting textile industry have been brought into sharp focus with news that the country's Textile Ministry has written to India's Environment Ministry suggesting proposed new liquid discharge standards for textile units are too stringent and will lead to mill closures.
