Oerlikon and Evonik ink recycled polyester agreement

Oerlikon Barmag and Evonik have formed a strategic partnership aimed at supplying the growing market for chemically recycled PET.

Textile machinery manufacturer Oerlikon Barmag and speciality chemicals firm Evonik are to jointly develop a chemical recycling system for polyester waste.

The partnership will include the development of technologies for the depolymerisation and purification processes, coupled with an integrated, energy efficiency concept for the repolymerisation stage.
