Multi-agency initiative set up last year to improve the rights of female garment workers claims significant progress over the last 12 months

The RISE (Reimagining Industry to Support Equality) programme claims to have reached 400,000 workers this year in its work to improve gender equality in the garment, footwear and textile industries.

RISE, a joint programme by Gap's PACE (Personal Advancement and Career Enhancement) programme, BSR's HERproject, CARE and the Better Work programme, was launched in 2023 to improve the rights of female garment workers.
