Four years on from Myanmar’s 2021 military coup, the IndustriALL global union warns that conditions for the country’s garment workers are deteriorating
YANGON - Garment workers in Myanmar are facing widespread forced and child labour, along with worsening working conditions in factories, four years on from the 2021 military coup, according to the IndustriALL global trade union.
Garment workers are being forced to work overtime without compensation and benefits, and set excessive production targets, while wage arrears are common and minors hired illegally, says IndustriALL.
