BRUSSELS - Campaigners say they are "deeply worried" that European Commission plans to merge and simplify new rules on corporate sustainability will weaken protection of workers, human rights and the environment.
The Clean Clothes Campaign (CCC), which works to protect workers in global fashion supply chains, is urging commission president Ursula von der Leyen not to backtrack on landmark legislation such as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD).
