LJUBLJANA – Smartex and Lithos Carbon, both of which work with the fashion and textile industry to improve environmental stewardship, have been named as recipients of the ‘Compute for Climate Fellowship’, the global programme that offers funding to start-ups that use advanced cloud computing and artificial intelligence (AI) to address the climate crisis.
The programme, which is run by the International Research Centre on Artificial Intelligence (IRCAI), an organisation under the auspices of UNESCO, in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS), has selected its next eight start-ups that address the climate crisis in key areas, including clean energy, low-carbon transportation, sustainable agriculture and food, circular economy, sustainable buildings, greenhouse gas accounting, carbon removal, and environment risk.
