BRUSSELS – The EU Commission’s plans to delay implementing its Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) have received a mixed reaction from industry stakeholders.
While many have welcomed the move – some fear that it penalises currently compliant businesses, while at the same time caving into vested interests.
The EUDR covers wood-derived products such as dissolving wood pulp used in the textile industry to spin man-made cellulosic fibres such as viscose and lyocell.
