Cotton bio-pesticide gets EPA recognition

WASHINGTON – An inactivated microbial-based pesticide that is degradable, yet shows efficacy similar to conventional synthetic-based treatments, has been honoured by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

California-based Pro Farm Group – a subsidiary of Bioceres Crop Solutions – received a 2024 Green Challenge Award from the EPA for its technology designed for a range of crops, including cotton, that is said to show minimal soil, aquatic, and human toxicity as well as minimal ecosystem impacts and harmful materials.
