The Business & Human Rights Resource Centre (BHRRC) last week published a survey revealing a troubling lack of transparency in Mexico’s fashion industry, with only one out of 18 leading companies responding to inquiries about their human rights due diligence (HRDD).
The lack of HRDD transparency is concerning considering the renegotiated United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), which took effect on 1 July 2020 and aims to improve labour standards and business compliance in Mexico.
