MANCHESTER – The UK garment industry must better utilise digital technology to combat modern slavery in global supply chains, according to a new report by academics at the University of Manchester.
Researchers called for urgent attention from policymakers and regulatory agencies to address transparency and due diligence challenges regarding poor working conditions, underpayment, excessive hours and job security.
