BRUSSELS - European Union legislators early today reached a deal on the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) which will make companies liable for humans rights and environmental issues in their global supply chains.

The new directive would apply to both EU and non-EU companies with a turnover over €150 million ($164m) and also smaller companies in specific sectors including textiles, as well as agriculture, mineral resources and construction.
