STOCKHOLM – Swedish textile recycler Renewcell has announced that its new flagship factory - billed as the world’s first commercial scale 100 per cent textile-to-textile recycling plant - is now up and running.
In the company's new interim report, CEO Patrik Lundström revealed that the new plant at Sundsvall started running on 19th August and that, after several test runs using water, was now processing textile waste.
Lundström said that tests were being carried out on different sections of the line for "quality assurance and adjustments" but he expected the factory to be operational and producing the company's 'Circulose' fibre within a month.
