COLOMBO - The IndustriALL global trade union federation has added its voice to those urging global apparel brands to continue sourcing from Sri Lanka to help the country through its current economic crisis.
People in Sri Lanka currently face daily power cuts and shortages of essentials including food, fuel and medical supplies, as well as rampant inflation, political instability and social unrest.
Previously, the American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA) and an alliance of NGOs led by the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) have all urged fashion brands to continue sourcing from Sri Lanka.
