BOSTON – Biotechnology company Evolved by Nature, which has developed a library of silk solutions based on natural proteins, has closed a US$120 million Series C financing round, which it’ll use to scale its infrastructure and capacity.
The company’s versatile Activated Silk technology can be used in yarn production or as a fabric treatment to improve moisture control and odour release, and has found use across various sectors including healthcare and cosmetics.
“With this investment, we can now make our library of Activated Silk molecules available to global development partners, so, together, we can enhance the performance potential of – essentially – any surface,” said Rebecca Lacouture, the company’s president, COO and co-founder.
