VENTURA - Outdoor clothing brand Patagonia has warned its wholesale partners in Australia and New Zealand that they will no longer receive any discounts on orders unless they take steps to reduce their carbon footprint.
The US company has announced a new incentive programme for the wholesalers which is designed to reward positive environmental impact, in contrast to conventional discount-for-volume transactions.
In future, discounts and rebates will only be offered on orders from wholesale partners which reduce their carbon footprint or make meaningful donations to grass-roots environmental groups in the two countries.
