BRANDE – Danish fashion retailer Bestseller has published its 2021 sustainability report, which highlights progress with regards to its adoption of renewable energy, as well as a failure to reduce Scope 3 carbon emissions.
Whilst last year saw the firm report on its climate targets for the first time since establishing science-based targets in 2018, the data shows that – due to operational growth – indirect carbon emissions at supplier factories grew by nine per cent.
“There is no doubt that we face some fundamental issues – both in relation to usual ways of doing business and in relation to our planet. But we are determined to do our part, and we will do our utmost to improve ourselves,” said Anders Holch Povlsen, Bestseller’s CEO and owner.
