LATHAM – Material innovator Primaloft says that it has improved the sustainability credentials of its PURE manufacturing technique, which now reduces carbon emissions by up to 70 per cent.
The US firm launched PURE – which stands for ‘Produced Using Reduced Emissions’ – back in 2019. It uses air, as opposed to heat, to stabilise insulation during the thermal bonding process and subsequently eliminates the CO2 conventional methods cause.
Over recent years, Primaloft has revisited its supply chain to assess where further savings could be made, culminating in what it says is a “holistic approach that perfectly matches materials, engineered recipes, equipment, and energy production that work together, enabling a significant drop in CO2”.
