CALIFORNIA – Traceability solutions provider TruTag Technologies has announced that it will expand into the apparel industry, in a bid to authenticate garments, improve supply chain transparency and combat counterfeiters.
The solution, currently used in industries such as pharmaceuticals, is based on spectrally encoded microscopic particles that can be checked via a smart phone.
“We saw an opportunity to combat yet another piece of the global counterfeit market,” said Michael Bartholomeusz, the brand’s CEO. “Our customers have always appreciated how easy it is to incorporate our technology into a product’s supply chain, be it drugs, food, beverages, and now clothing.”
