AMSTERDAM - The Policy Hub initiative, which aims to accelerate circularity in the apparel and footwear industry, has joined other players in calling for EU-wide rules on extended producer responsibility (EPR).
The Policy Hub - a joint project from the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC), the Federation of the European Sporting Goods Industry (FESI) and Global Fashion Agenda (GFA) - has linked up with Euratex, Circle Economy, EuRIC and EuroCommerce to demand a harmonised system.
Ongoing discussions on EPR by the EU and a number of its member states - including France, Sweden and the Netherlands - prompted the organisations to send a joint letter to the European Commission outlining their case.
