LONDON - Supply chain compliance experts QIMA report an "alarming spike" in ethical risks in factories around the world which supply western brands and retailers.
A new 'barometer' study by QIMA says the percentage of factories which it ranked 'red' - for critical non-compliance issues - doubled in the second half of 2020.
Issues included increased risks of modern slavery, workers being pushed to work long hours to meet global demand for PPE, and factories docking employees' wages for toilet breaks.
