LONDON – British fashion retailer ASOS and workers’ rights organisation IndustriALL have reaffirmed their commitment to working together in a bid to support vulnerable people within the company’s global supply chain.
The terms of a new agreement between the pair will promote respect for freedom of association, the collective bargaining rights of workers and unions, open social dialogue between staff and their superiors, and stable wages, particularly amidst the pandemic.
IndustriALL general secretary, Valter Sanches, said: “This joint statement with clear points of action is an important step in the recovery plan for the global garment industry. It expresses the mutual commitment for respect of unions, while protecting jobs and income of workers along the supply chain.”
