GLOBAL - The International Consumer Protection Enforcement Network (ICPEN) says its annual sweep of corporate websites found that four in ten featured potentially misleading environmental information.
ICPEN had focused on environmental claims for the first time in its yearly checks of corporate websites for potentially fraudulent, deceptive or unfair online conduct by businesses.
Led by the UK's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) and the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM), the latest sweep of almost 500 websites found that 40 per cent were posting potentially misleading environmental information.
