SYDNEY - Australian Wool Innovation (AWI) is to trial the use of transparency platform Everledger's blockchain technology to trace the chain of custody of wool from farm to consumer.
AWI says the collaboration aims to capture and make visible secure information about wool provenance and its supply chain for the benefit of wool growers, manufacturers and retailers.
Everledger will build and host an electronic chain of custody tool (ECCT) on its platform to track and validate the exchange of ownership of selected wools as they move up the supply chain from farm, to overseas processing and through to finished products.
