COPENHAGEN – Danish fashion brand Bestseller has launched a new circularity project in Bangladesh as it looks to find value in the estimated 400,000 tonnes of production waste generated in the Southeast Asian nation’s garment industry each year.
For this, the team at Bestseller’s sustainability hub Fashion Forward Lab has partnered with suppliers in the country, as well as mechanical recycling firm Cyclo, in an effort to close the loop on textile waste.
Cyclo’s founder and director, Mustafain Munir, commented: “Collaborations have been key to our success. Bestseller has been at the forefront of sustainability efforts for some time now and we like working with companies, which are genuinely interested and active in both the environmental and economics.”
