LONDON - The British government is investigating claims that it has sourced PPE made using slave labour by North Korean women working at factories in China.
The Guardian claimed that the UK's Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) had bought hundreds of thousands of protective coveralls from factories using North Korean labour in the Chinese city of Dandong.
The newspaper said its investigation had also found evidence of North Korean labour being used in factories exporting PPE to the US, Italy, Germany, South Africa, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines and Myanmar.
