LONDON – Fast fashion retailer Primark has launched a new nationwide recycling scheme in the UK, which will allow shoppers to return unwanted apparel regardless of the brand or outlet it was bought from.
Research by the Waste and Resources Action Plan (WRAP) estimates that a third of Brits have looked to clear their wardrobes of surplus items amidst the pandemic, leading to an influx of bags at donation boxes across the country.
“Now is the perfect time to be launching our in-store recycling programme, making it convenient for customers to give a second life to items from their wardrobe that they no longer need,” said Katharine Stewart, ethical trade and environmental sustainability director at Primark.
