AMSTERDAM - Some 93 per cent of surveyed brands are not paying the people who make their clothes a living wage, according to a new website launched by the Clean Clothes Campaign (CCC) and funded by the European Union (EU).
The Fashion Checker website scores 108 major European and North American brands on their work to ensure that the garment workers in their supply chains are adequately rewarded for their efforts.
Users can pick their favourite brands, or choose from a scroll-down menu, to access a page of information which includes whether or not there is any evidence supply chain workers are paid a living wage.
