LEEDS - Scientists investigating how different textiles fragment say their initial findings suggest the issue is far more complex than had been suggested by earlier research.
The Microfibre Consortium has shared preliminary results from the first phase of its product development research and testing programme carried out for it by scientists at the University of Leeds.
It said that the data confirmed that fibre fragmentation was complex and, contrary to the findings of earlier research papers, not purely related to fibre composition, but the interconnection of all elements of the textile make up.
