New Delhi: Garment manufacturers in India are appealing for government help as they say they do not have the money to pay their workers' wages for April and May because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The Garments Exporters and Manufacturers Association (GEMA) has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other ministers for help in covering wages bills for these two months.
GEMA president Vijay Jindal has also approached Textile Minister Smriti Irani and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman over the issue.
