AHMEDABAD – Global fashion retailer Gap Inc and denim manufacturer Arvind Limited have unveiled a new water treatment facility which they say will save eight million litres of fresh water every day - or 2.5 billion litres per year.
The plant will eliminate the need for the use of freshwater at Arvind's denim manufacturing factory in the city of Ahmedabad, in the western Indian state of Gujurat, preserving vital local resources.
Ecotextile News reported back in June that the two companies had entered into a new partnership to channel “industry-leading solutions” to the problem of global water scarcity.
