HAMBURG – German retailer Tchibo has launched its latest collection of sportswear, which it says utilises the ‘ocean plastic’ of PET bottles & textile waste, with the end goal of “more recycling, less resource consumption.”
This is the second Tchibo bathing and sports collection made from recycled materials, containing the nylon fibre Econyl which makes use of 2700kg of fishing nets.
The company also highlights its use of over 4.4 million PET bottles and 80 tonnes of recycled polyester fibres in textiles, which it says can save the environment about 220 tonnes of CO2.
